Grays (Consulting Engineers) Limited were appointed as the Civil and Structural Engineers on this prestigious development for Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council as part of the Welsh Governments 21st Century Schools Programme.
The new school will be constructed on a Brownfield site within Tredegar which aligns with the councils desire to utilise unused areas of land for the effective use for the wider community of Tredegar and Ebbw Vale.
The school will allow the Council to meet increased demand for Welsh-medium childcare and education places in the area. The school build will also incorporate a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), a forest play area, a growing orchard and wild-flower meadows. The school will also be climate conscious with solar panels and electric vehicle charging points.
The school will offer 210 ‘seedling’ places which will also include onsite childcare provision.
