Grays (Consulting Engineers) Limited were appointed as Civil and Structural Engineers on this scheme which forms part of the Carmarthen Council education development plan.

The school is being built on land adjacent to the existing site and the council is working closely with Contractor, TRJ Limited to make sure that works can be carried out safely and in line with Government guidance.

The new school will cater for 120 pupils aged between four and 11 with an additional 30 nursery places, helping to meet the demand for Welsh Language Education in the area.

It will provide state of the art facilities and accommodation for children and staff, and also includes a multi-use games area that can be shared with the community, as well as off-road parking for staff and visitors and a drop-off area for parents.

The project is part-funded between the council and the Welsh Government through the 21st Century Schools initiative.

Executive Board Members for Education and Children’s Services Cllr Glynog Davies said: “I am delighted that work has started back on this new school for Five Roads, which will provide the very best educational facilities for both pupils and staff.”
