Chartered / Senior Structural Engineer

Role:

  • As an experienced Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, analysing, and ensuring the structural integrity of a variety of projects.
  • You will lead your team’s project delivery efforts, taking responsibility for all aspects of our projects, leading the way for our engineers and technicians and promoting design innovation.
  • You will maintain a hi-level overview of your team’s projects, ensuring that the design is delivered correctly and in accordance with Gray’s quality assurance procedures and health-and-safety responsibilities
  • You’ll collaborate with Architects, construction teams, and other professionals to create safe and efficient structures.
  • You will need to be experienced in running projects and should be confident in communicating with Clients, Contractors, and other Designers.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out structural analysis and calculations for various structural projects.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Manage our internal project Team and provide guidance and direction to our Graduate Engineers and Technicians.
  • Collaborate with Clients, project managers and the wider design team to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
  • Manage project delivery time and budgets.
  • Attend design/ site team meetings.
  • Perform site visits and inspections.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices

Qualifications / Attributes:

  • Chartered Engineer (MIStructE/ MICE) status preferred. Non-chartered applicants will be considered if they are on route to Chartership.
  • Degree (MEng/BEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Proven experience in structural design and analysis.
  • Proficient in relevant software tools (e.g, AutoCAD, Tekla, TEDDS, REVIT).
  • Understanding of BIM requirements up to and including Level 2.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Self-motivated team player with good people skills.
