Chartered / Senior Structural Engineer
Role:
- As an experienced Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, analysing, and ensuring the structural integrity of a variety of projects.
- You will lead your team’s project delivery efforts, taking responsibility for all aspects of our projects, leading the way for our engineers and technicians and promoting design innovation.
- You will maintain a hi-level overview of your team’s projects, ensuring that the design is delivered correctly and in accordance with Gray’s quality assurance procedures and health-and-safety responsibilities
- You’ll collaborate with Architects, construction teams, and other professionals to create safe and efficient structures.
- You will need to be experienced in running projects and should be confident in communicating with Clients, Contractors, and other Designers.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out structural analysis and calculations for various structural projects.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
- Manage our internal project Team and provide guidance and direction to our Graduate Engineers and Technicians.
- Collaborate with Clients, project managers and the wider design team to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
- Manage project delivery time and budgets.
- Attend design/ site team meetings.
- Perform site visits and inspections.
- Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices
Qualifications / Attributes:
- Chartered Engineer (MIStructE/ MICE) status preferred. Non-chartered applicants will be considered if they are on route to Chartership.
- Degree (MEng/BEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Proven experience in structural design and analysis.
- Proficient in relevant software tools (e.g, AutoCAD, Tekla, TEDDS, REVIT).
- Understanding of BIM requirements up to and including Level 2.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Self-motivated team player with good people skills.
